Jellyfish Chess Set

 So we had to come up with a chess set theme at the beginning on the new semester and of course I decided to challenge myself. My two main ideas were to do an African animal themed one or a jellyfish theme. I probably should have stuck with African animals but I decided to push myself and go with the more abstract of the two designs. I had never really sculpted before so the entire process was one huge learning curve. There might even have been some tears shed during this project, especially when I dropped all of my finished pieces and shattered all but two of them - necessitating a complete re-do of everything. As I said, I learned quite a bit and now feel somewhat more comfortable with the material. The following pictures are my completed works.
